A bedroom on peeping display. With the work and our research, we explore the topic of voyeurism and the notions of the gaze, the dichotomy of public and private, and performance/performativity. We question how we are voyeurs of each other and ourselves in our daily lives, through a social lens.
The work consists of a room (2 x 2.2 x 2 m). The walls, which are made out of plaster, hold multiple peepholes. Some of the peepholes contain a curtain made of used bedsheets. The room is a bedroom, consisting of personal belongings. In addition, the work includes multiple performances, as well as posters.
